Those are the two words that came to mind for Jen Larsen Fortner when she described the process of parenting teens in a 2021 blog post.

In fact, she stated that she felt that she needed near “Jedi-level” mental skills to do the hard work of raising her teenagers the right way. This is despite the fact that Mrs. Fortner holds a Master of Social Work degree and appears to be the ideal fit to take on this difficult challenge.
