Have You Heard the Latest Rumor on TikTok?
These days, if you are a TikTok user, it seems impossible to avoid hearing about some of the latest rumors.
A casual hour (or two, or three, or six) can quickly lead you down the rabbit hole of almost anything that you can imagine.
In fact, for the longest time, I resisted signing up for a TikTok out of fear that it would start to reflect parts of my inner psychology that I didn’t necessarily want to know about.
That’s right: The fear of a product burrowing into my brain outweighed the fears of privacy concerns or anything of that nature.
Now, I’m one of the roughly 1 billion TikTok users worldwide, and I have learned to live with the fact that TikTok will seemingly have access to my inner thoughts almost no matter what.
Lately though, a new fear about the platform has emerged for me.
I find myself concerned about the spread of misinformation on a massive scale.
For whatever reason, the spread of information about things that are relatively trivial in nature is what seems to pop up on my feed most often, but it still bothers me.
