“Once upon a time I had no idea of the amount of animals living in homeless encampments”

These are the words of Soledad Munoz, the founder of Hungry Tailz, an organization that operates in Stockton, California.

Their mission?

To do community outreach in the homeless encampments in the Stockton area to address some of the needs of the homeless population there as well as the needs of their dogs.

At the time she was like many of us, simply going about our daily lives and trying to do the best that we can.

That is until one day while running an errand she happened to drive through the streets of Stockton and was astounded to see the number of homeless dogs and piles of garbage that surrounded them.

She noted that she saw approximately 50 dogs wandering a single street digging through piles of garbage.

Her first reaction was to have a multitude of questions come tumbling into her mind.
